Solid state drives are fast -- blazing fast. But, not all SSDs are created equal. For example, NVMe SSDs are much faster than regular SATA SSDs. What is more, the generation of the NVMe SSD matters too. Therefore, it is a good idea to check to see how fast is is your SSD. Fortunately, doing so is very easy. Here is how to easily do it.

Right-click the Start button and then choose the Windows Terminal.

Type winsat disk and hit Enter to find out the read and write speeds of your main hard drive, which is typically the C drive.

If you have multiple drives, you can use the following command.
winsat disk -drive .... (replace periods with the drive letter)
Other Ways to Check SSD Speeds
Another way you can check SSD performance is by using free apps such as CrystakDiskMark and ATTO Benchmark. This may be easier if you prefer to have a visual presentation.
