Best NVIDIA Control Panel Settings for Gaming

Find out how to set up the NVIDIA Control Panel settings for best gaming performance.

A good way to get the most performance out of your NVIDIAgraphics card is by fine tuning the settings from the NVIDIA Control Panel. This involves three basic steps: setting the presets to favor performance, managing the 3D settings and then optimizing your monitor's settings. Let's start!

To open the NVIDIA Control Panel, simply click the search area on the taskbar and then search for NVIDIA Control Panel.

Part 1 - Presetting Features for Performance

Go to the left side under 3D settings and then click Adjust image settings with preview.

Click Adjust image settings to get to the performance preset.

Drag the slider to the left to set it to Performance and then click Apply.

Part 2 - Fine Tune the 3D Settings

Click Manage 3D Settings under 3D Settings.

Click manage 3D settings. This is where you will find most of the core NVIDIA Control Panel settings.

Part 3 - The Best Monitor Settings

Click Change resolution under Display.

Set it to the highest resolution possible (native). Set the refresh rate to the highest possible.

Use the NVIDIA color settings, and if possible, change the output color depth to 10. Next, click Apply. You will see a difference if your monitor was not optimized.
